my love

the sky was smiling
coloring me in shades of blush

i stood wide-eyed and open-wounded
with no immediacy or expectations

synths echoed beneath my understanding
coating the foundation to my imagination

i swear when i saw you
all your facial expressions and physical reflections
dissipated to only your spirit

i was in a cotton-candied dreamscape
and you were just as sweet as the air between my teeth

i saw a glimmer
a ripple in the understated landscape of the moment
in the way you moved toward me
as if to say: “my love”

my love breathes the breeze that hits the trees
my love colors the atmosphere that coats all i see
my love is real and true and mine
my love exists and i am fine
