My time has come to a close
My time has come to a close
Walking up the driveway, sunlight cutting through the trees. I’ve witnessed the greening of their limbs—of my limbs—and the world abound. Wishing for someone to have taken me out—now I stand proud.
This closing of a chapter the falling of the leaves. What’s new has grown—some dead and gone—and I sincerely so. I shift through fields and feelings as the breeze may brush one’s side. The energy I once forsake now comes to me alive.
If I had known that this was life
—I would’ve never wanted to die
Trusting my new growth as a baby does their bones
My authentic self, and inner child,
Were lovelorn once but now are blessed
After all’s been said
I now digress
