Pink Clouds
Long ago, I knew a god
But they were a villain in disguise
Who pits you against yourself for love?
And who would justify that that’s undying love?
Birds sing for a response
I sing for all I’m not
Tell me this, this one question
Do you exist for possession?
Pink clouds on a lavender sky
Pass by like they know more than I
The Arizona sun was my first love
But I traded it for Tennessee storms
This is all I’m reduced to
Back to the body before you
I’m not much of a man
I’m not a man at all
I cannot withstand the way that love falls
There is hope for the first time
But it’s coated in misery
