Fly Away
If I could fly away I would
Hold onto the world I knew
Shattered is all I am
And I fear I cannot withstand
A feeble heart, a shaky hand
Strewn across a foreign land
Which part of me now do I need?
Because I was taught they’d always leave
Dissolve all now, identity
The traces to which would complete
A sense of self in anarchy
Awash the mind within the sea
The winds of change rescue me
If I could fly away I would
Instantly become anew
We’re quick to fall, unsteady shoes
We’re meant to wait instead of choose
Broken by fragmented fate
I ask the sky to descend
For its own mold, it cannot break
I’m afraid my life’s at stake
