ii. hydrologic outlook

the rain dusts my jacket
i pace before the traffic
holding my love inside a locket
though i can never be contained

you ask if you should worry about me
i say i’m still the same
crying on my commute
stuck behind a train

bloody fingers and unkept pinky promises
flash flood warnings and
“did you see their story?”s
i lie down with the clouds

there’s a weight inside my veins
rainbow rain drops on my cellphone
all is fair in love and war
all is gay in my turmoil

what more is there to live for
once the resolution ceases
will you meet me in the moment
when there’s nothing left but pieces
